Joanne M. Cherisma

Joanne M. Cherisma is a Haitian born writer. In "I Never Thought I Would Be A Statistic" she shared her testimony of how she overcame an abusive marriage. She created Beyond the Abuse, Inc. in 2016 in order to bring awareness on abusive relationship and provide hope, empowerment, support and confidence to the victims. Joanne writes poetic prose that speaks to the hearts of many. Joanne uses her writing as an outlet and voice for those who can understand the slings and arrows of life.

Jasmine Cannon-Ikurusi

Jasmine Cannon-Ikurusi began her journey in 2015. She is the CEO and Founder of Sapphire Community Group which is aimed at developing youths aged 5-30 years old in the UK, Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico, Kenya and India. When she is not working, she is a Politician, Film writer, Director, Mentor, Motivational Speaker, Coach, Spoken Word Artist and Producer. She has published 12 books with the 13th on its way, she has one TV Show, one Radio Show, one Film and one Screenplay.

Poet/Author Siah B. Hagin has worked for the New York City Department of Education for the past fourteen years and is currently a School Counselor within the same Department. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, she began writing poetry on her journey to healing. In "The Journey Continues: Stories of a Survivor", Poet/Author Siah B. Hagin tells us her story of survival, healing, and rediscovery through the art of poetry.

Gazenor

Cindy Gazenor is an artist and artisan. She's passionate about painting and interior decorating. Since the age of 7, she knew she would become a painter. She was dreaming about brushes & paints under her mother's seat while she was sewing. Today they own a textile workshop together, Cingi's Créations. They used to create customized household linen for interior decoration. Ten years ago, she has started her artistic career while attending an art exhibit in Port-au- Prince.

Nasheema S. Dixon

Nasheema S. Dixon is a single mother that found the passion to write poetry in her adolescent years. After years of advancing her talent onto her projected supporters, she decided to expand her skill set of writing to reach a different audience. Nasheema’s projects are commonly known to inspire single mothers and children as she understands and recognizes the importance of this marginalized community. To date, She has published a collection of poetry that consist 5f 5 inspirational books.

Dr. Spencer

Dr. Claudette Joy Spence plays several roles in our community development. With more than 35 years' experience, she serves as an educator, author of five books, poet, editor, playwright, actor, & Sustainable Joy Communications facilitator. She has been recognized for her efforts & impact by NY State Senate, NY City Council, Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush, Corona Congregational Church UCC, Golden Grove All Age School, & a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

Blaque Diamond

Blaque Diamond is the C.E.O. of Blaque Diamond Enterprise. Her book "Stacey F. children's book series" on foster care and adoption garnered her several book awards, including the 2017 Indie Author Legacy Awards Community Champion Legendary Honoree. She earned her MSW degree from Morgan State University School of Social Work. She's a Certified Parent Coach and an advocate for children waiting for reunification. She co-writes "Open Your G.I.F.T.S. vol II" with actress-comedian Kim Coles.

Vernon W. Jeffrey is the founder of JTS PREP, a small tutoring company. He focuses on test prep for standardized exams such as the SHSAT, SAT, and MCAT. Zay’ah: Lord of America is his first novel, providing a fresh perspective on the Black experience in America.
